GOA Criticizes Biden and Pritzker Comments Following Illinois Shooting

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 5, 2022 Washington, D.C. Today, Erich Pratt, Senior Vice President for Gun Owners of America, issued the following statement in response to calls from President Biden and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker to enact more gun control in the wake of the shooting in Highland Park, Illinois: “Once again, all of the strict and onerous measures that anti-gun politicians claim will prevent shootings like we saw in Illinois yesterday utterly failed to stop this murderer from carrying out his evil act. Illinois has a “red flag” law, and despite being known to the authorities and demonstrating dangerous behavior, it failed to stop him. Additionally, the state has waiting periods for firearm purchases and bans concealed carry at public gatherings like parades. In addition, Highland Park has local prohibitions on AR-15 style rifles and magazines capable of carrying more than 10 rounds. Again, all of this gun control, on top […]

Winchester’s Model 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine

05/29/2022 As I get older, I spend more time working the property surrounding our home. Take today, as an example. I spent the morning cutting down some mature pear trees, a small oak and an elm tree to make way for a change in landscaping. Drought and cold resistant colorful ground cover, will replace a 7,200 sq.ft. sloping lawn adjacent to the driveway. That will remove a demand for 6,700 gallons of water per week when it doesn’t rain for weeks. The afternoon was spent digging up stumps with a backhoe. Chomping away, snapping progressively deeper layers of roots until the stump could be wiggled out. More dentistry than forestry. I found all of that very satisfying, gratifying, and much more so than say… talking to people. Around lunch time, I drove down the hill into town, about ten miles, to put gas in the car and fill a […]

This kind of holster is called a paddle holster because of how it attaches to your belt.
