Don’t fear constitutional carry: it makes sense and promotes safer communities | Opinion

It’s always the same predictions of doom and bloodshed from gun-control activists. They warn us of pending disaster if Pennsylvania becomes the 22nd state to adopt so-called constitutional carry rules that would allow law-abiding adults who legally own a handgun to conceal-carry it without a permit. Thirty-four states, including Pennsylvania, aly allow open carry without a permit. PA State Senator Kim Ward We heard the same predictions when states first adopted right-to-carry laws, which now exist in 43 states. None of the dire predictions came true after states adopted Constitutional carry. Not even one of these states has seen the need to reverse the laws. Indeed, none have even held a legislative hearing, let alone a vote, on undoing these laws. A Constitutional carry bill passed both the Pennsylvania House and Senate with bi-partisan support. Regrettably, for law-abiding Pennsylvanians, Governor Wolf has aly promised to veto it. The bill would only make two […]

Right flight and the ‘Gunshine State’

“Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeg shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” — Plaque placed at the Statue of Liberty in 1903 Americans tired of riots and woke politics, poorer from high taxes and increasingly unconstitutional regulations, huddled together as they flee crime and COVID-19 lockdowns, and yearning to breathe free from masks and mandates are pouring into Florida. Second Amendment opponents charged that the increase in Florida’s gun ownership led to higher numbers of firearm deaths but mysteriously (to them), the overall murder rate actually dropped to the second-lowest murder rate recorded since the state began keeping statistics in 1971. (In fact, the JMI study reports, Florida’s crime rate has dropped for an astonishing 50 straight years.) But… A recent study in the […]

This is an all-hands-on deck kind of fight, so get your family and friends involved before the anti-gunners win the first real battle in the […]

Napoleon Conquers in Second-Largest Firearms Auction in History

To call 2021 a record year for Rock Island Auction Company would be a colossal understatement. On Friday, December 3rd, Rock Island Auction became the first firearms auction house to join the century club by cracking $100 million in annual sales, and continued to shatter that lofty benchmark as the weekend rolled on with an unprecedented $121 million in annual sales. RIAC’s December 3 5 Premier Firearms Auction posted a staggering $25.2 million, the second-largest firearms auction in history and an exclamation point on an industry-defining year. A RIAC’s competitor once said his dream would be reaching $20 million in a single auction. Rock Island Auction Company realized that achievement four times in twelve months, hosting a $22 million “Sale of the Century” last December, and following up with a trio of record-setting firearms auctions in May, September, and December of 2021. Browning’s Buck Mark Plus Vision

12/06/2021 Try as I might, I cannot seem to stand still in time, as I always end up getting swept along by the things changing around me. One day I am waging a losing battle of spoon feeding strained peas to a baby progeny. The next day I am trying, quite unsuccessfully, to decode a conversation with my fourteen year old granddaughter. Yes, conflict, frustration and failure do form a common th in my life. Thank you for noticing. However, more to my point, each person noted above lives their own reality, has their own perspective and is motivated by their own set of preferences. Which makes for quite a challenge to anyone in the business of making firearms for the masses. When someone selects a firearm, it only has to please that individual. When a firearm company markets products, they have to appeal to as large a segment of […]

Gun Owners Defeat Anti-Gunners UBC Scheme

Yesterday evening and this morning, we sent you two URGENT action alerts. And you all responded marvelously. The team here at GOA is so grateful for all of you who took action. Your loud voice makes it known to legislators on Capitol Hill that people back at home are truly watching what they’re doing. Yesterday our team in Washington, D.C., learned that anti-gunners in the Senate were trying to pass Universal Background Checks without a single senator voting. So-called Universal Background Checks are only enforceable if the government has a registry to check if a gun belongs to a gun owner—so GOA kicked our grassroots activists into action right away. GOA immediately began encouraging Senators to place “holds” on the UBC bill the anti-gunners had “hotlined.” These holds are usually not made public, but you can always reach out to your Senator and find out if they helped defend your […]

WY: Protect the Rights of Wyoming Firearms Businesses

); Your options for purchasing guns and ammunition are being restricted on a platform that you pay for with your tax money! GOA just learned that the program is discriating against the firearms industry in Wyog! What is even worse? They are using your taxpayers’ dollars to do it and limiting your options to buy products! How so, you may ask? Well, the state-sponsored website allows Wyog businesses to advertise and sell products UNLESS THOSE PRODUCTS INCLUDE FIREARMS AND AMMUNITION. According to their own website, “ is sponsored by the Wyog Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and funded by the U.S. Small Business Adistration (SBA) through the […]

PA: Governor Wolf Vetoes Constitutional Carry

Click the “Take Action” button to make a donation to Pennsylvania GOA’s Independent Expenditure Committee. The battle lines are drawn for 2022 and we must defeat Josh Shapiro Battle Lines Drawn for 2022 Gubernatorial Race Wolf Vetoes Constitutional Carry Governor Wolf ignored thousands of your messages and vetoed constitutional Carry on December 2, 2021. This was expected. Governor Wolf has repeatedly shown his hostility to your Article I, Section 21 rights since taking office. Last session, he vetoed two pro-gun bills that were sent to his desk (HB 1747 and HB 2440). These bills would have restricted the Governor’s power during a state of emergency, but Governor Wolf had no interest in doing that. Fortunately, Governor Wolf is term-limited and cannot run for re-election in 2022. But there is an even more diabolically anti-gun person waiting to take his place, the current anti-gun Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro. Just look […]

Anti-Gunners Attempt Stunt to Pass UBCs Without a Vote

); In response to the recent tragedy in Oakland County, Michigan, what did the anti-gunners do? Following their standard course of action, they are politicizing the deaths of four high school teens in an attempt to undere your constitutionally-protected rights. In fact, bowing to the will of their far-Left overlords, anti-gun senators are bringing H.R. 8 to the Senate floor—which is a bill to institute Universal Background Registration Checks (UBCs). And to make matters worse, they are trying to do this by unanimous consent—without an actual vote. Please, contact your Senators and make sure they know you’re opposed to H.R. 8 and demand they promise to oppose the […]

9th Circuit Gives SCOTUS and the 2nd Amendment the Middle Finger in Duncan v. Bonta Decision

Court Rules Standard Capacity Magazine Ban Only a “Minimal Burden” The declaration yesterday by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals (to , click here) that California’s “high” (standard) capacity magazine ban is constitutional is a clear indication that the heavy hand of politics is pressing the scales of justice firmly to the left. And, even though GOC fully expected the previous ruling of the ban’s “unconstitutionality” to be shot down, it was still a middle finger to the 2nd Amendment community and to the Supreme Court as well. The 9th fully discounted both the Heller and McDonald decisions, both of which affirmed the right to keep and bear arms as an individual right as opposed to a collective right and, that right could not be infringed by federal, state or local governments. Justice Susan Graber, writing for the majority opinion in overturning the previous 3-judge panel, said that “The ban […]

FPC Responds to Misguided Ninth Circuit Decision Upholding California’s Magazine Ban

SAN FRANCISCO (November 30, 2021) — Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) has issued the following statement in response to today’s misguided Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals decision in Duncan v. Bonta, which held that California’s law banning so-called “large capacity magazines” (those that can hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition) is permissible under the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment, Takings Clause, and Due Process Clause: FPC News Firearms Policy Coalition

M&P®45 SHIELD M2.0™

11/28/2021 I’m easily distracted. My plan was to gather my notes and write this evening, but I played the movie Monster Island in the background, got to the point where they found that the giant starfish had magma for blood and could not, would not, look away. Later, the movie of choice was Monster Hunters, then Claw, then Jurassic Galaxy as I over dosed on B Movies. The scripts are juvenile, the story lines are banal, the acting is atrocious, and the special effects are peer to finger puppets. When I am not watching wonderfully terrible movies, it is ing digital pulp SciFi. What is a SciFi story without a genetically altered last reaper, aided by a semi functioning AI, off to save civilization with a rag tag gang of other castoffs? At what exact point does a man accumulate enough artificial body parts to be properly labeled a cyborg? […]
