Last week I sent out an alert asking our members and supporters to call Speaker of the House Clay Schexnayder and urge him to appoint a pro-Second Amendment chairman to the Administration of Criminal Justice Committee.
The Administration of Criminal Justice Committee is the House committee where all firearms bills, both good and bad, start out. So, it goes without saying that this committee — and its chairman — play a crucial role in both the defense and advancement of our Second Amendment-protected rights.
For everyone who took the time to call the Speaker’s office, thank you!
But we need to keep the pressure on the Speaker and make sure he doesn’t appoint another anti-gunner to lead this all-important committee.
Currently the Louisiana Legislature is meeting in Baton Rouge for a special redistricting session, which provides the perfect opportunity for your state representative to speak with Speaker Schexnayder.
As such, I ask that you please take action to email your state representative and ask them to urge Speaker Schexnayder to appoint a pro-Second Amendment chairman to the Administration of Criminal Justice Committee!
