Many gun owners took the action we requested in our last alert and House Members heard your voices and voted as we asked, HB 1636 — Constitutional Carry for snowmobiles and ATVs was voted “ought to pass” and HB 1151, the parade and funeral gun ban was voted “inexpedient to legislate.” The House of Representatives will meet again on March 15, 16, and 17 and three more firearms bills are on the calendar.
The following pro-gun bill will likely be considered:
* HB 1178, will prohibit local and state police from enforcing federal anti-gun laws and rules. The bill was amended by the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee. We still support HB 1178 and are urging state reps. to vote YES on the motion to accept the amendment and then YES on an “ought to pass” motion for the amended bill.
Two anti-gun bills are also in this week’s House Calendar. Please urge state reps. to vote YES on the expected “inexpedient to legislate” motion on each of these:
* HB 1096 bans the open carry of firearms within 100 feet of a polling place.
* HB 1668 bans sales, gifts or loans of firearms between friends and family members — in other words, sell a gun to a friend and go to jail!
HB 1096 and HB 1668 were voted “inexpedient to legislate” by the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee. Click here to read the alert where we explained why these three bills must be defeated.
Please Support Article 2A and the Second Amendment to urge your state reps. to vote YES on an “inexpedient to legislate” motion for HB 1096 and HB 1668 and YES on an “ought to pass” motion for HB 1178.
