); When testifying on HB1005, a government official made it clear they don’t want you to carry a firearm. Remember these eleven words. “I don’t think someone should be able to carry either one.” HB1005 is simply a clean-up bill to ensure that Tennessee state laws are not violating the civil rights of Tennesseans based on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in the Bruen case. This bill: Removes the language of current law making the carrying of firearms with “the intent to go armed” an offense. Permits 1820-year-old Tennesseans to exercise their right to carry a firearm. Exchanges the term “handgun” for “firearm” throughout the Tennessee code. (Therefore, […]

GOA Wyog Director Mark Jones said that, “SF0148 is a common sense bill to restore the legislative intent to stop local authorities from having firearms restrictions not authorized by the Wyog Legislature.” Wyog supposedly had state-level preemption, meaning, the state’s gun laws should supersede and county or city regulations. However, there was a loophole in it because of an inadvertent error in the wording of the state’s firearms freedom act, passed in 2010, Mark Jones, a lobbyist for Gun Owners of America, recently told Cowboy State Daily. However, Senate File 148 was drafted to plug that hole, he said. It passed the Wyog Legislature, and Gov. Mark Gordon signed it into law on Monday. Read more at Cowboy State Daily GOA

); Ask the Senate and Governor Gordon to Stop Hidden Gun Control in the “Restoration of Civil Rights” Bill! Sunday, GOA warned that the Wyog Legislature was poised to pass hidden gun control in a bill labeled “Restoration of Civil Rights!” After previously passing the Senate, SF0120 passed the House 34-27 yesterday despite an attempt by pro-gun forces to amend the bill or vote it down. This bill proposes to restore the right to bear arms to one-time non-violent felons in Wyog. However, it contains provisions not necessary for doing this, and it actually revokes rights not currently revoked under Wyog statutes. Supporters of SF0120 claim they wish […]
An Oregon court of appeals just ripped the Second Amendment to shreds, while labeling gun owners who are concerned about the U.N. gun control treaty as racists. And all of this while officials in the Biden adistration are pushing the President to override gun owners’ rights by resigning the anti-gun Arms Trade Treaty. But first … a three-judge panel in Oregon OVERTURNED our victory over Michael Bloomberg’s “Everytown” in defense of a citizen-passed measure that established a 2A Sanctuary in an Oregon county. While this ruling against the clear vote of the people is alarg, what’s even more disturbing is the secondary opinion by Judge Egan, one of the most radical anti-gun judges in the country. In an unhinged fear mongering rant full of vitriolic hatred for the Second Amendment and those who support it, the judge slandered gun owners like YOU as racists and antisemites who are responsible for […]
Rep. Michael Cloud (R-TX) Republican Texas Rep. Michael Cloud reintroduced the No Retaining Every Gun In a System That Restricts Your (No REGISTRY) Rights Act on Wednesday, which would require the ATF to destroy all the purchase records they have in their databases. The bill would also require closing gun stores to destroy their purchase records, preventing the records from going to the ATF…. Aidan Johnston, GOA director of federal affairs, told Fox News Digital “ATF has no business maintaining nearly a billion gun and gun owner records in a digital, searchable database.” “ATF’s recordkeeping authority has been weaponized and all statutory protections against the creation of a gun registry have been maliciously circumvented,” Johnston said. “Gun Owners of America proudly supports Rep. Michael Cloud’s No REGISTRY Rights Act to rein in this rogue agency and completely eliate ATF’s unconstitutional gun registry,” he continued. The reintroduced bill has 62 of […]
); Dear friend, Just as a concealed carrier is aware of their surroundings, a Second Amendment advocate must maintain a “legislative” situational awareness as well. Gun control can come in any bill, even if the title of the bill is not an oous “Assault Weapon Ban.” And sadly, many backdoor gun control bills fly “under the radar,” and then are passed into law when gun owners aren’t looking. Last year, GOA alerted you to HB 1013, a “mental health” bill in the Georgia state legislature. This year, this legislation is back, but in a different form. This year’s HB 520 makes it […]

SilencerCo: On a Mission To Do It Better Home February 27, 2023 William Lawson SilencerCo is on a mission. A mission to do it better. Do what better? Good question. Let’s look at that. First and foremost, SilencerCo strives to make better suppressors and suppressor accessories. That’s fine, but one could easily say the same for many companies who make quality products. What matters here is how SilencerCo does it. (SilencerCo photo) SilencerCo lives by what they call “The Three Ps,” People, Passion, and Precision. The Three Ps are the road map to accomplish their mission of doing it better. Let’s break down how that philosophy works. People We often hear companies say that they put the customer first. A common customer service maxim says that “the customer is always right,” even though any honest person knows that’s untrue. SilencerCo takes a somewhat different approach to outstanding customer service: they […]

GOA looks forward to attending Governor Jim Justice’s bill signing ceremony for this legislation on Wednesday, March 1st at 10 a.m. at the state capitol. Last week, I had the pleasure of standing alongside Mountaineers at West Virginia Citizens Defense League’s Lobby Day, where we engaged state legislators in support of this legislation. ); We Must Send a Strong Message to the North Dakota House Members Rebuking them for their Cowardice by not Defending our God-given Rights! Over the last week and a half, we have witnessed North Dakota’s FDR Democrats, who masquerade as Republicans, sentence FOUR pro-liberty Second Amendment bills to the murky deeps of the Bismarck Bog. Matt Heilman (R, D7) These broadsides of freedom, meant to restore just government to North Dakota, were primarily brought forth by Second Amendment Champions Representatives Matt Heilman (R, D7) & Ben Koppelman (R, D16). Ben Koppelman (R, D16) While only in his first legislative session, Rep. Heilman is setting the standard for how […]

Patriots, we demonstrated our commitment to the cause of liberty by showing up in significant numbers to the committee hearing on January 26th. While your efforts unequivocally validated the support for Permitless Carry within Nebraska, the Judiciary Committee begrudgingly reported L.B. 77 to the floor for debate. Senator Brewer’s bill, L.B. 77, is an important step in restoring just government to Nebraska. Silencer vs. Suppressor: What’s in a Name? Home February 23, 2023 Kat Ainsworth Stevens Between daily life and the movies, you’ve likely heard the terms suppressor and silencer used to reference what appears to be the same barrel-mounted device. Is there really an difference between the two terms? Does it matter if you call these devices silencers or suppressors? We’re here to answer your questions on the subject, and it all starts in 1902 with Hiram Maxim. Hiram Percy Maxim created his famous silencer in 1902 and had it officially patented in 1909. (Photo credit: SilencerCo) The Birth of the Silencer It was 1902 when Hiram Maxim created what would become the Maxim Silencer; in 1909, the device was officially patented. The tubular, barrel-mounted device was made to reduce the decibels produced by live fire, and it was the first of its kind produced on the commercial market. An original […]
